Evil God Korone Horror Game Collaboration Out Now

Yesterday, Evil God Korone, a Japanese slide scroller horror game, was released for the PC. The game was developed by Vaka Magazine and ImCyan and published by Vaka Magazine in collaboration with the Japanese horror game Tsugunohi and Inugami Korone, a Japanese virtual YouTuber, commonly known as VTuber, with over 1.71 million subscribers on YouTube. Evil God Korone was made in part for the Inugami Korone Birthday Project, as Korone celebrated her birthday on Oct. 1.

Korone officially debuted as a VTuber with the VTuber company Hololive in April 2019 under the group Hololive Gamers with three other VTubers. Since her debut, she has grown her fanbase both locally and overseas by interacting with her fans in her live streams in Japanese and English. She is known for live streaming many horror games on her YouTube channel, which resulted in this collaboration with the creators of the Tsugunohi series. Before Evil God Korone was publicly released, Korone shared on her Twitter that she would be playing the game for the first time on Halloween during a live stream on her YouTube channel to show her first gameplay experience with her fans.

In addition to Evil God Korone being a collaboration, it is also a homage to Korone and her fanbase, affectionally named Koronesukis. The game incorporates many inside jokes between Korone and her fans, especially a reoccurring joke about Korone being overprotective with her viewers to the point where she appears scary despite her cute appearance and personality. The game is similar to the original Tsugunohi series, where you play as a male student walking home from school. However, Korone has infiltrated into the game as an evil goddess who wants to wreak havoc and your daily life begins to change as it fills with horror.

Korone is the second VTuber to collaborate with the Tsugunohi series, where their first collaboration was with longtime VTuber Kazuna Ai with her own game called Ai’s Silent Cries. You can purchase Evil God Korone on Steam for $5.99.
