Train lovers don’t want to miss out on this upcoming survival game, EverRail, where players face the harsh frozen wilds of an exomoon called Inara. The train serves as the players means of survival. It is their base, factory, and life support.
Survival depends on whether or not players can keep the train’s engine running and their passengers alive. The train’s battery recharges while it remains in motion and drains when it is still. This mechanic means that when players are going out on expeditions, they have to make every second count and gather as much resources before the battery reaches zero.
Expeditions are where players can obtain valuable resources useful for crafting new weapons, gear, and a handy glider. There are also hidden secrets for players to uncover and technology to discover. There are also enemies that players will face, meaning that having the right gear can make all the difference in a fight. Players will also be able to expand their train, attaching new wagons to help with storage and production.
An interesting mechanic in the game is that passengers also work as a type of respawn system, though not in the traditional sense. When a player dies, another passenger will take their place to help them continue their journey. Players can rescue passengers throughout abandoned facilities across the exomoon, building up their society while ensuring they have a means of coming back to life.
EverRail can be played solo or with up to four other players. It is a procedurally generated world, meaning that every run contains different routes and dangers. Players can use their glider or deploy drones to scout the frozen wasteland, harvest crafting material, and find facilities for expeditions.
The developers, Aesir Interactive, plans on hosting a launch stream on their Twitch channel, July 20th at 4:00 AM PST (7:00 PM CEST). Aesir Interactive plans on giving away 5 Supporters Editions of the game during their live stream. EverRail will be releasing for Early Access on Steam that same day.
