“Sooner or later, all pirates run aground.”
Developer CCP Games announced today the next planned update for Eve: Valkyrie – “Groundrush”. The new update is scheduled to drop next week on April 11th, and will bring some exciting new features. Check out the teaser trailer below:
As the name suggests, Groundrush will be bringing a brand new concept to the game: surface battles. Previously, all of the dogfighting action of Eve: Valkyrie took place in outer space, allowing players to move freely in all directions through a boundless void; now, you’ll have to take extra care not to crash into the ground.
This new update adds the map “Solitude”, a base built into the side of some snowy mountains that will present pilots with an all new set of challenges as they dodge around hazards and through narrow chasms, their flight area restricted between the land below and the sky above.
The update also adds some new Wormholes content, warping some of the familiar locations and mechanics of Eve: Valkyrie into new, unique forms. Additionally, the game’s co-op mode has been expanded to now include both Control and Carrier Assault game modes, further enlarging the “Player vs AI” playlist and allowing more variety for players who prefer to go up against computer opponents with human-controlled teammates.
The update also adds new animations to the in-game avatars of Eve: Valkyrie, adding more character and realism to victories and defeats. English subtitles are now also available in game.
Eve: Valkyrie is available for purchase on the PlayStation Store.
