ESI New York is an esports networking and business developing event hosted by Esports Insider. The event was originally set to take place from April 27th to April 28th, but the coronavirus pandemic has led it to be pushed back to November 30th to December 1st. The postponement was announced on the Esports Insider website.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has shut down all non-essential businesses in the state, as the healthcare system in New York is beginning to become overwhelmed. Esports Insider has been “monitoring the global advancement of [the] Coronavirus” and they are sure this push back probably isn’t surprising. The company assures that any ticket holders who can’t make the new dates will be entitled to a refund. They are also “exploring digital options” in the meantime and will continue to offer networking and business resources throughout the quarantine. Sam Cooke, Managing Director & Co-founder of Esports Insider, spoke on the decision, saying “There are many circumstances in which we would soldier on with ESI New York, but unfortunately a global pandemic is not one of them.”
Esports Insider is still committed to delivering a great event in November and December, backed by partners like Gaming Malta and esports technology platform, GRID. ESI New York will host the second edition of “The Clutch”, an esports focused pitch competition. Companies and entrepreneurs will vie for guidance and investment from international investors and experts. The event is set to feature over “350 delegates” and more than “50 leading industry speakers.” ESI New York will also host the third iteration of the ESI Hall of Fame, a grand ceremony to honor three new industry heavyweights.
Esports Insider will share information on ESI London in the “not too distant future.” They will also provide instructions for anyone in need a refund in the coming days. For more on ESI New York, click here.
