Battle State Games recently released a new trailer for update 0.11 for Escape from Tarkov. The update, deemed a big one by Battlestate, introduces new features, a new enemy type, a fresh new map, and a slew of new items. While no concrete release date for the update has been set, developers say that it is coming soon, more than likely before the end of the year. You can check out the trailer below.
Players will have access to a new item type called Stimulators. The consumable item will temporarily boost character skill levels but at the expense of their health. Over 100 new items will also make their debut, including the “RPK-16, Remington 700 and some variations of Mosin rifle; melee weapons: knives and hatchets, ice axe and machete, tactical sword and entrenching tool,” along with many others. The blog post made specific mention that melee weapons will no longer be able to be picked up from dead enemies, specifically PMC’s.
The existing Customs map has been expanded and a brand new one introduced: TerraGroup Labs. The map, featured in the trailer, will contain a new enemy type, Scav Raiders, who have commandeered the abandoned lab as their own and are hostile to all intruders. Update 0.11 also brings a new Scav boss called the Killa. The Killa is a heavily armored solo fighter, wielding automatic weapons and tossing smoke grenades like candy at a parade. “It’s going to be a tough fight to get him killed,” states head of Battlestate Games Nikita Buyanov. “By the way, he [considers] PMC’s and Scavs as his enemies,” he adds.
Escape from Tarkov is still in Closed Beta, but players can gain access now by pre-ordering the game on their website starting at $49.99. Preliminary patch notes have also been released via a Facebook post and a full summary of the upcoming patch can be found here. It seems like Battlestate’s predisposition to claiming YouTube copyright strikes have not taken away much time from work on the massive new update.
