The most important update for any game that starts in early access is the 1.0 release. This version must bridge a video game from a work in development to a complete experience free from major bugs. As a result, the 1.0 release of Enshrouded by Keen Games GmbH has been highly anticipated by the game’s players. Recently, the developers put out a post and video announcing the complete version coming later this year on the game’s official website.
At its core, Enshrouded is a fantasy survival game which leans heavily into both the crafting and RPG elements of the genre. Since its initial early access release in 2024, the team has been refining the central features and adding new ones, the latest of which were recently alluded to in the 1.0 announcement. The trailer is relatively short, showing off flashes of moments from combat and building. There is a close-quarters battle with a monster, a wizard holding back a group of undead, and a look at a builder completing a structure with blocky materials.
The trailer also shows off the multiplayer potential of the game, allowing up to 16 players to traverse the large world at once and take on powerful enemies together. Enshrouded’s Steam page goes over further details of the full release, including an important choice between Wizard, Ranger, or Warrior that will determine how players fight and what equipment they can use and craft. It also explains that the game’s realm of Embervale has fallen due to a search for forbidden power, leaving the player to fight the cause of the darkness and rebuild the world.
With the most important testing and development finished, Enshrouded will now have a chance to make an impression on all the players who wanted to wait until the full release. The 1.0 version will be available for PC on October 15th, 2026.
