Section 9 revealed End of Abyss during the Summer Game Fest of 2025. Players will play as Cel as she fights her way through monsters within a mysterious facility to understand its secrets.
The official reveal trailer has a distorted and faraway voice saying, “to the one who hears this message, we are waiting for”. These words and the generally dark atmosphere of the game also reveal an underlying horror that seems to pervade the setting. The trailer also showcases Cel’s character model in a top-down perspective, firing at some kind of unknown monster as she explores a metallic-looking facility.
The gameplay of the End of Abyss is still relatively unknown beyond that trailer. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through the Epic Game Store in 2026. The Epic Game Store page also emphasizes that nothing the player encounters in the so-called abyss will be fully human, and the complex is winding with new branches uncovering themselves during exploration.
More information about gameplay, potential demos, and a more concrete release date are expected from Section 9 in the future.
