Today the final DLC of Elder Scrolls Online got a release date. Coming to PC, Mac, and Stadia on November 1 and PlayStation and Xbox on November 16, Elder Scrolls Online: Deadlands will conclude the game’s Gates of Oblivion storyline. This DLC finale will include around 20 hours of new story content, taking inspiration from 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Players are invited to uncover the schemes of Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon, 800 years prior to the events that took place in Elder Scrolls VI: Gates of Oblivion, the Elder Scrolls Online adventure released just before Deadlands. Players will travel dangerous lands towards the city of Fargrave whilst battling the Waking Flame cultists, who are attempting to unleash the infernal incarnates upon the mortal world. With this new DLC, players can experience a fantastical, dramatic ending to the year-long saga. These quests will only be available to players who own the Blackwood chapter storyline.
Although many fans were excited for the new release, several lamented the fact that the game chose to highlight a land already previously available through a main storyline. Others complained about the content being released, criticizing the lack of new and exciting features in the game.
So… a pet I don’t want. Body Markings I’ll never use. DLC that I get for free already as a PS Plus member.

All in all, the fan response to the new DLC was lukewarm. Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, The Elder Scrolls Online is one of the most popular massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). It averages anywhere between 30,000-35,000 players a day, with numbers steadily increasing over the last few years. Released in 2014, the game originally operated under a mandatory monthly subscription, similar to other MMOs such as World of Warcraft, until 2015 when it transitioned to a buy-to-play model with microtransactions. Since 2014, the game has released 5 chapter DLCs and 18 DLC game packs.
