Last night, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences celebrated 2022’s best video games at the 26th annual D.I.C.E. Awards. Elden Ring took home five awards including Outstanding Technical Achievement, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Role-Playing Game of the Year, and Game of the Year. God of War Ragnarok was awarded 7 Outstanding Achievement awards across the Animation, Art Direction, Character, Original Music Composition, Audio Design, and Story categories. Fighting Game of the Year was awarded to MultiVersus and Mobile Game of the Year went to MARVEL SNAP. The gaming industry’s independent developer community was also recognized with Tunic awarded with Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game. Vampire Survivors took home the Action Game of the Year award.
AIAS also honored industry legend Tim Schafer of Double Fine Productions for his amazing contributions to the video game industry over his illustrious 30+ year career.
