Eidos Montreal May be Developing a Guardians of The Galaxy Video Game

With Eidos Montreal choosing to not pursue Deus Ex series in the near future, the company has decided to take up a new role in the gaming community. With the partnership between Marvels Studio and Square Enix, Edios Montreal will be helping develop a new Guardians of the Galaxy video game; not the telltale series.

In a blog post earlier in the week, Square Enix announced that it would be partnering up with Marvel Entertainment to bring about the Avengers awesomeness in video game format. In an article on Eurogamer, it is speculated that Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics may be working together to tackle Guardians of The Galaxy. Jay Ong, Senior vice president, Games and Innovation, at Marvel Entertainment said in the blog that, “By partnering with Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal, we are now working with two of the industry’s most talented and respected game development studios to bring Marvel stories to life in ways our fans have never experienced”

Currently this is still just speculation as Square Enix has said they will keep things quiet until sometime in 2018. However, if Eurogamer is accurate with their information, then the Guardians of the Galaxy game is already being worked on. Again, thats a big if. But, if true, that means Eidos Montreal will be working on Tomb Raider and Guardian of the Galaxy, which could possibly point to not having enough time to put together a new Deus Ex game.

The game itself will be separate from the one currently being developed by Telltale Games. Keep an eye on them to see if anything else may leak before their 2018 new information release.
