Sci-fi shooter Earthfall launched in full as of July 13, and developer Holospark marked the occasion with an accompanying launch trailer for the game. The online cooperative action game places its players in teams of four as they rid the world of savage alien monsters. Made in the same vein as games like Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead, Earthfall challenges its players to utilize team-based tactics (and a whole bunch of advanced weaponry) to survive on an Earth that has been ravaged by multiple meteor strikes.
“For the last couple of years, the Earthfall team has been working hard to offer players an exciting co-op shooter that matched the intensity and quality that Left 4 Dead set nearly 10 years ago,” supplied Holospark’s CEO, Russell Williams. “Finally, the launch of Earthfall has arrived and we want to welcome all our new PS4 and Xbox One players, with a special shout-out to our Steam Early Access fans who have supported us along the way. With free DLC updates planned every four to six weeks, now is the perfect time to grab a friend – or three – and go mow down some aliens!”

The game, according to Holospark, is a combination of the old-school Left 4 Dead feel with “new tactical gameplay with portable barricades, auto-turrets, and 3D-printed weapons.” Holospark made a point of delivering intel on the aliens you’ll be battling. First up are Drones, which “throw themselves at you wave after wave,” although the Drones come in different subcategories to keep things interesting. Next are Sappers, which are essentially “walking gasbags, full of toxic vapor.” Finally, we’ve got the bosses of the battle: Beasts, which are a “wrecking ball on two legs,” spewing toxic plasma and requiring a team effort to remove.
Earthfall is available now for PC, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.
