Early Gameplay of Tron: Catalyst Leaks

After the great reception Tron: Identity received from critics and fans alike, many are excited for the follow up game, Tron: Catalyst, rumored to be dropping sometime in 2025. While developers attempt to keep information under wraps, in these modern times, it’s been proven more difficult than not to do so. Now it seems Bithell Games and Tron: Catalyst now have a gameplay leak on their hands.

In a since deleted video that was posted to Youtube, gameplay was revealed of what is expected to be the first mission in the game. The leak also seems to have come from play test that people can sign up for and much of what was shown was the protagonist of the game and walking around the environment and speaking to other characters in the game. Although combat and the famous light cycle don’t make an appearance in the gameplay, glimpses were given in the reveal trailer that came out earlier this month.

While no statement has been made by Bithell or Disney on the leaked gameplay, Mike Bithell has spoken on his excitement in developing the classic IP recently, stating:

I’m very interested in artificial intelligence, computers, robots, aliens, so it was the right fit…I wore out the VHS tape of Tron because…as a kid I loved it.

He went on to say:

This was a story about someone who made computer games, which as a kid I thought was the coolest thing in the world. Obviously now I know the horrible reality that it’s a very nerdy job.

While the previous installment was a visual novel centered around puzzle solving, Tron: Catalyst appears to be a more action centered game with the protagonist fighting with the Identity Disk and riding the Light Cycles. As of now, the game will be available on all systems including PS5, Xbox Series X & S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
