There’s always the talk about the PC master race, however EA does not make any sports games for PC anymore except for FIFA. So, with FIFA as EA’s only game available on PC, they look to change that in the future by bringing their other big sports games like Madden and NHL back to the PC. On GameSpot, EA Canada vice president Matt Bilbey said that “PC is literally based on demand, and there’s still the high demand for FIFA on the PC globally because of the global appetite for the game. I think that’s less so with Madden NFL 17, but I think if that changes and an opportunity presents itself, I think we would definitely leverage the opportunity.”
One issue with PC sports game is that they usually require a controller to play the best way on PC instead of a keyboard and mouse. This is probably what lead to the decline of games like Madden on PC which probably lead to EA’s decision to stop making it every year for PC. So to make this time more successful they will probably need to change around the PC version to make it more PC friendly.
By bringing back sports games to PC, EA has made their sports community even bigger allowing for more people challenging each other on their online modes. Also, this could allow for EA to use the full potential of a PC’s graphics to make their new games more realistic, and more like the real thing. Hopefully EA does well with the next sports games for PC.
