The Sims 4: Tiny Living Stuff Pack was released on January 21st for PC and Mac following a recent livestream on The Sims’s Twitch channel. The pack will release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on February 4th. The stream was hosted by Dave “SimGuruNinja” Miotke and Conor, a designer who has worked on many DLCs for The Sims including Tiny Living. They revealed some new additions to look forward to, including a new tiny house rewards system, new build and buy items, and even a new way for your sims to die! The DLC expands the game for seasoned Sims 4 players parched for new gameplay possibilities.
The Tiny Living Stuff Pack expansion has Hygge influences, which basically means the styles are meant to invoke a cozy atmosphere in your compact house. The lots for these houses act as a building challenge, with different reward tiers. The cap for small homes is 100 tiles; a tiny home is capped at 64 tiles, while anything under 32 tiles is considered a micro house. Each tier features two unique rewards, combined with those above it. This means that a micro house will award you six benefits. New goals and building formats are sure to excite the Sims building community.
The build and buy items shown on the livestream all strive to save space, with some even being combo items. One such item acts as a television, radio, and bookshelf all in one. From dressers to rugs, these new items are one tile placements, while being visibly more compact than the base game items. These items function just as well and aid the cozy and content vibe of your tiny house. Expect to see some creative and unique tiny homes in the Gallery for download soon.
With all these additions came the humorously hazardous murphy bed. The livestream revealed a new kind of ghost; one that would appear if your sim died due a murphy bed. You can view the design for this bed and the ghost above. SimGuruNinja did confirm this cause of death, but viewers did not get to see the animation for this demise. However, the ghost of a sim who perished this way appeared on the livestream with zzz’s in front of them, and what looked to be new attributes. This DLC adds an interesting twist to the gameplay and is sure to inspire the Sims community and its designers.
The Sims 4 is now six years old, and EA is aiming to invigorate the game and keep things fresh with this new Hygge-inspired Stuff Pack.
