Just days after the final DLC dropped for Battlefield 1, fans are already looking forward to the imminent reveal of Battlefield 5. While that might sound chronologically baffling, it means that after a brief trip in the time machine back to World War I, the seminal FPS franchise will—presumably—be returning to its recent modern/advanced warfare setting. The newest entry was confirmed last month to be releasing in October (potentially as a way to soften the blow of an Anthem delay), and just mere days ago, EA announced that the title would be playable at a company event leading up to E3. Now, there’s even more for war shooter enthusiasts to sink their teeth into.
Late this morning, Randy Evans, the Senior Video & Media Director for EA DICE, had this to say:
Battlefield 2018 reveal trailer is underway.

With EA just a few months away, this tidbit doesn’t come as that much of a shock. However, many will recall the electrifying debut trailer for Battlefield 1, which wowed the Internet and set the stage for the game’s eventual success. Much like Blizzard has become famous for their cinematic trailers, this could be EA’s attempt to make the “Seven Nation Army” lightning strike twice.
No more concrete details regarding Battlefield 5 have emerged, but with the developers and publishers in full hype-building mode, it shouldn’t be long before the game is finally revealed—likely in a blaze of glory.
