EA has officially announced Battlefield V. An official statement on the Battlefield website reads “The next chapter of EA DICE’s groundbreaking all-out war saga is Battlefield V.” On top of the announcement the publisher promises a full reveal next week on May 23. There will be an official reveal event which will be hosted by comedian and TV entertainer Trevor Noah. Noah tweeted a video announcing that he will be hosting the event that also teased the logo for the game.
The event will contain developers sharing some insight and some of their visions for the game. As for where fans can view the event, it will be streamed on YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer. The official Twitter account for the game has been updated with the “V” logo as well. There aren’t many concrete details about the upcoming sequel yet, but there were some reports earlier that supposedly leaked info about the game and claimed that it would be based within a WWII setting. There will also be a single player campaign and a dedicated co-op mode.
Also, last month it was reported that developer DICE currently has a prototype battle royale mode in development. The game will also be playable during the publisher’s EA Play event which happens just before E3. As for an official release date, that is currently unknown as well, but EA did confirm that a Battlefield title would be releasing this fall. A lot of excitement has garnered around this event as shown by Alan Kertz, the official design director’s Twitter account.
