It’s pretty safe to say that every year gamers look forward to the exciting time that is E3. The convention otherwise known as the biggest week in gaming has been bringing the hype for players everywhere for quite some time now and this year serves to be no different. Fans already have something to look forward to months before the convention even begins.
Early this morning the official Twitter account for E3 posted that on February 12 at 12 pm EST, gamer passes will officially go on sale. Media as well as exhibitor registration is now open as well for those planning to attend. Producer Geoff Keighley also made an announcement from his Twitter account stating that he will indeed return to produce E3 Coliseum which will take up 3 full days of programming. He teased that there will be great guest in order to help “celebrate video games.”
Although he did not give any hints to who just might show up he did state that more details on specific sessions would be coming soon. E3 2017 was a huge year for the yearly event. It was the first time that the convention opened it’s doors to the public and the resulting attendance was astounding. The ESA reported that 68,400 people were in attendance last year, which is just shy of the event’s all time record (70,000).
It was so crowded that the ESA decided to open up early in order to ease any threats of safety. Many people were skeptical if the ESA would be opening their doors to the public this year after last year’s fiasco with all the new traffic but, it looks like this announcement has shown that E3 is looking forward to another packed house and is planning accordingly to accommodate everyone.
