E3 2021: Tails of Iron Gets a New Trailer at The Future Games Show

During today’s Future Games Show, a new trailer for the hand drawn Soulslike rat RPG Tails of Iron was shown off. Described as “an epic RPG Adventure with punishingly brutal, soulslike inspired combat,” Tails of Iron puts players in the shoes, little rat shoes, of Redgi, the heir to the Rat Throne, as he fights off the Frog Clan.

Tails of Iron will have players exploring the Rat Kingdom that is divided into six distinct areas to explore and face off with enemy frogs and other treacherous enemies. Aside from just saving the Kingdom from the Frog Clan, the game will feature multiple side quests and secrets to discover. Players will also come across multiple different companions that will help the player with their quest “whether that’s new meal recipes, blueprints to forge deadly weapons and armour, or even a landchugging, armour plated molemobile!

Like many Soulslike games, Tails of Iron‘s combat will feature parries, dodge rolls, and executions for players to master as they progress. It does seem there will be weapon crafting in some form as there will be hidden blueprints around the world for players to discover and create better weapons. Another interesting thing revealed about Tails of Iron is that the story is fully narrated by Doug Cockle (the voice of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher series).

Eager players can currently preorder the game at select retailers. By preordering, players will receive the Crimson Knight DLC pack which includes three different skins each for their armor, helmets, weapons, and shields. Tails of Iron is set to release later this year and will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
