During today’s Ubisoft Forward, the next Nintendo and Ubisoft crossover was announced in the form of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. The game is a sequel to 2017’s Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and sees Mario, Luigi, and Peach traveling with the Rabbid versions of themselves across the galaxy.
Announced with a CG trailer, the game follows the group as they traverse the galaxy to stop a new villain named Cursa. There were plenty of new characters revealed including a Rabbid version of Mario Galaxy‘s Rosalina, new enemy types, a stylish new female Rabbid with a sword, and the Sparks which are a merger of Lumas from the Mario Galaxy games and the Rabbids. It was teased that the origin of the Sparks would be a major piece of the story.
There was also a look at prealpha gameplay footage. Though not much was shown, they did show off more expansive areas to explore, new types of combat including getting helps from Sparks in battle. The gameplay footage ended teasing a release year of 2022 with a release on the Nintendo Switch.
Team up with Mario, Rabbid Peach and their friends on a cosmic journey to defeat Cursa and save the galaxy!🌌
