E3 2019: Project Witchstone Is A Game That Lets Players Tell The Story

As E3 2019 rolls on we continue our coverage of the huge variety of games that the convention had to offer. There is certainly a lot to cover this year even with Sony not appearing at this years’s big show. We were fortunate enough to get a hands on demo of or a pre-production version of Spearhead’s sandbox RPG Project Project Whichstone. Within Project Whichstone players are on a island with where there are multiple rival factions roam the land.

These factions goals are to seek powerful magic artifacts called which stones. One of the very big things that Spearhead promotes in this game is complete freedom on how they player wants to play. Players can be heroes, villains, thefts, or whatever else they choose to be within the game. In regards to the factions that inhabit each village players can infiltrate the ranks of each faction in different ways and even take down the leader is the choose to do so. Each decision that tips the balance of power forwards either of the rivaling factions favor can change the world drastically.

However, The interactive storytelling element of the game completely revolves around each player dialogue choices when interacting with other characters as well as the reactive world in their grasps. It’s also worth noting that the game also does have some own and paper elements such as a die that rolls when certain choices are made to foretell the different outcomes.

The game exercises freedom and choice and allows players to have a very unique experience instead of one pre established story that every other player will get. The game’s release day hasn’t officially been decided yet but whenever it does come out it PC players will enjoy making their own choices and story within this ambitious RPG. Check out the Steam trailer and some screenshots for the game below!
