Techland, the developers of the Dying Light franchise, has announced that Dying Light 2: Stay Human (cloud version) for the Nintendo Switch will not be released next month.
Today, Techland shared a press release stating that the Nintendo Switch version of Dying Light 2: Stay Human, which will be available to play via the cloud, will no longer be released alongside its fellow platforms on Feb. 4, 2022. The Dying Light developers shared the following statement: “Techland aims to deliver the game to the Nintendo Switch family within six months from the original date. All other platform releases remain the same and are locked for February 4, 2022.”
Techland first introduced the Dying Light series on the Nintendo Switch with Dying Light: Platinum Edition in 2021, which included Dying Light, Dying Light: The Following, and other various DLC for the game. According to Techland, Dying Light’s debut was well-received among the Nintendo Switch community, where the developers stated: “[T]he community’s warm reception affirmed something Techland has always believed: quality matters.”
Techland further explained in their press release that the main reason behind their decision to delay Dying Light 2: Stay Human for the Nintendo Switch was to “provide fans with the gaming experience at the level they deserve.” They are also asking Nintendo fans worldwide for their patience as they continue to improve and prepare the game for its release in six months.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Dying Light 2: Stay Human’s release date has gotten delayed since it was first announced in E3 2018. The game was infamously delayed multiple times, where it was first set to release in Spring 2020, and then it was indefinitely delayed until further notice that same year. The game was postponed once again, as Techland changed its release date from December 2021 to February of this year.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human will continue its planned release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms on Feb. 4th, 2022.
