Just recently, the demo for DuneCrawl, developed by Alientrap, officially launched for players to try out. The demo is now available on the Steam for free. It is yet to be said when the game will officially release, but the Steam page reports that the full game will be released some time this year.

The trailer shows off the colorful 2D animation and how the Dune Crawler will look like in game. The trailer then cuts to the actual gameplay players can expect to see. It shows that players will be able to explore without the Dune Crawler and that they will have weapons to fight back enemies. The demo will allow the players to explore the intro level, which is only around 20 minutes long and it also supports multiplayer, according to 80LV.

The developers from Alientrap Games have previously shown off their gameplay since last year. There was a tweet that was posted in November of 2024 where they go more in depth about the gameplay and what players will be able to do.

DuneCrawl is an online action-adventure RPG game where players team up with two to four friends to take on the roles of desert privateers. Players will be able to explore the vast dust seas by piloting their Dune Crawler, which is a giant walking crustacean with built in cannons and treasure maps. Players will also be able to mount other animals like scorpions and beetles during their exploration

The Steam page reads “Travel through sprawling, lush, hand drawn environments to unfold the story surrounding the mystery of the Dune Crawlers. Interact with quest-giving NPCs, defend the local towns from bandits, discover hidden plunder, ride armored scarabs and defend your title as the greatest freebooter this side of the seven sands.”
