Duck Side of the Moon, a new exploration game by Starbrew Games, launched yesterday, and with it came an adorable Launch Trailer. The game follows a duck that’s leaping forward into outer space.
To celebrate its release the Duck Side of the Moon team dropped a heartfelt message in its Steam Game Release Announcement:
“This game has been years in the making, and we genuinely can’t thank you enough for all the support along the way. Seeing the community grow into what it is today has meant a lot to us, so a genuine thank you from the whole team.
We hope you have an amazing time waddling the galaxy as Doug! We’re super excited to hear your thoughts!
If you do enjoy what you play, it would help us a ton if you could leave a short review.
Thank you, much love, and have fun waddling through space!
The Starbrew Team”
The Launch Trailer shows a Duck named Doug in a space suit, on a ship that’s half wrecked in a bunch of rocks. Doug floats around planetary terrains, with visuals of grass, hills and a floating river as the trailer states “Explore A Galaxy.” Doug floats around space locations until he finds a diamond, which the player clicks and is presumably saved in an unseen storage on Doug. He heads back to his ship and gains a bunch of nails that disappear like the diamond, the ship then crafts a “booster” for Doug. Which Doug uses to fly to a snowy part of the terrain called “Snowfell,” where talking rock creatures seem to live. In Snowfell, there are mini games such as a shoot a picture game, and more site exploration opportunities as Doug walks through an underground train system, on a pipe surrounded by Lava, before he flies back to his ship.
A rock creature offers to “fix this ship” and through some sort of unlocking mechanism, new items like couch beds are available. Doug is also customizable with different “hats” and “outfits.” The trailer teases a buildable train, which when built seems to transport Doug into a mine, it also teases a beach, cave music that might cause explosions and other scenery to explore. The trailer ends with Doug and two of his rock friends looking beyond as the trailer notes that the game is “Out” on “Nintendo Switch, Epic Games Store and Steam.”
