From Developers Evolution Studios comes the PlayStation 4 exclusive racing game, DriveClub, which will launch October 7th in America and October 8th in Europe, publisher Sony Computer Entertainment announced today.
DriveClub brings not just only racing, but also brings a social racing game that allows it to be all about you and your friends. Drive with your friends and work together to fight for each other and earn rewards together. The game connects you and your friends, with every experience you earn, that will be shared with your friend, you will be able to send and receive challenges and also let’s you keep track of the performance of your team.
DriveClub was originally suppose to be released back in November, but then was delayed last fall to “early 2014.” Last month, DriveClub ended up being put back on the drawing board in order to achieve what the players would really want in this game, which caused the delay it needed, to be now released on October 7th.
Back in February, DriveClub, had received a new game director Paul Rustchynsky. Rustchynsky (Rushy) was a game director on 2012’s MotorStorm: RC, and has been working at Evolution Studios since 2004. The previous game director for DriveClub, Col Rodgers, left the company back in February in order to start an indie studio, which lead to Rushy taking over his role.
“With Rushy in the lead, we know DriveClub will deliver on its initial promise to be a truly next-gen racing title for our PS4 portfolio,” said Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. “We are really proud of the incredible work the team has produced — their tenacity and passionate pursuit of excellence is admirable, and DriveClub will be all the better for it.”
There are three supercars that will be available when you pre-order DriveClub, which are the RUF RT12 R, Mercedes SLS AMG Coupe Black and the McLaren 12C. With the pre-order you will also be able to boost your fame in order to increase your driver level, which will not only help you but your club as well, with a jump start over your competition.
You can view the new trailer above for DriveClub. With the game being released on October 7th, it will be coming out with 3 other releases on that day; Dragon Age: Inquisition, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and Alien: Isolation.
Also in response to a fan’s question, Evolution Studios mentions that we can “expect to get more info in the weeks leading up to E3 2014.”
