What was rumored, and what we covered just two days ago, has unfortunately come true – Drive Club for the PlayStation 4 will not be launching with the system on November 15th, but will instead be pushed to “early 2014.”
In a consolatory yet hopeful message on the PlayStation Blog, Shuhei Yoshida – President of Worldwide Studios, discussed the “difficult decision” but reaffirmed gamers that it was necessary if Drive Club is going to successfully “realize the next gen racing vision.”
With Watch Dogs also getting the boot to 2014, one has to wonder if this is to become a recurring trend. Remember, Grand Theft Auto V was delayed four months from its originally scheduled released. Next-gen games are so massive and complex that even the best and most talented people cannot predict all issues with certainty. Don’t be surprised if we see a few other titles slip into next year.
