Now, the company dedicated to recreating the authentic arcade experience has released its latest premium collectible, Dragon’s Lair X RepliCade which is a fully playable, 12-inch-tall replica of Don Bluth’s original 1983 Dragon’s Lair arcade cabinet. This particular arcade machine was made possible with the help of over 2,000 backers on Kickstarter. It’s a true marvel of intricate detailing, from its play scale joystick and buttons down to a fully functional raised-letter metal coin door. The Dragon’s Lair X RepliCade costs $119.99.
Key features include the original game that runs on Daphne LaserDisc Emulator. There is a fully functional secondary scoreboard that displays player’s scores, lives, and credits. It maintains the traditional 4:3 aspect ratio on a gorgeous 4.2-inch screen. It comes with an Aracde Operator’s menu featuring dip switch settings and cabinet controls. It has a miniaturized 1/6 scale control panel featuring a ball-top joystick and authentic action buttons. The cabinet is constructed from premium materials such as wood, metal, and plastic. The Raised letter metal coin door comes with a storage compartment. It has an illuminated marquee and LED cabinet accents. It features signature amplified multi-speaker audio reproduction with volume control. The high-resolution cabinet art (professionally reproduced by EscapePod) is on quality 3M vinyl overlays. It comes with a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery, HDTV connectivity, and USB controller support.
