Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is a mobile game that has continued to remain a mainstay in the Mobile gaming industry. According to Superpixel, the two most profitable months for Dokkan in 2022 almost made collective $150 million. These months occur during the two anniversaries of the game, one in July for global’s anniversary, which encompasses all regions outside of Japan, and the other in February in Japan’s. While Japan is currently enjoying its lucrative eighth anniversary, hitting the top-selling app in both ios and Android stores respectively according to sensortower, many consider it to be a slower period on the global version of the game. However, last night a data download dropped on the global side of Dokkan revealing the details of a new global first Extreme-Z Awaken that has people anticipating its release later tonight.
On November 6, 2022, a poll was held to discuss which unit people on the global side of the game would like to see EZA first, LR God Goku, or LR Beerus and Whis. The outcome of the poll was in favor of God Goku’s EZA, to which the Twitter account for the game announced that it would be released sometime in February.
Fast-forward almost three months to January 31st, which was the beginning of the most recent celebration of the Global Dokkan Battle, which detailed that on February 7th, God Goku would be released. This is the newest global first release since the seventh anniversary of the Global version of Dokkan Battle, with the release of the EZA for Ultra Rare Teq Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku. It is unknown how long this exclusivity will last, as the Japanese got the Ultra Rare Goku only a couple weeks after Global got it. This has also become a hint for many people as to what the Saiyan Day celebration will be on March 18th of this year, which is one of the only events in the year where Japan and the rest of the countries get new content at the same time. On February 2nd, released a bingo sheet announcing an informational video on upcoming events, with the bingo sheet having the numbers 3, 1, and 8 on the top row.
With 3/18 being the date of Saiyan Day, many also see the relation of a bingo sheet to the movie Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods, which also included a notable game of bingo. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but many speculate that a new God Goku might be coming for Saiyan Day based on the teasers released so far, however only time will tell if these speculations are correct.
