Dragon Ball is one of the biggest and most influential series of all time. Whether it be manga, anime, or video games, Dragon Ball has stood the test of time and continues to do so with future releases. Especially with its most recent release, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, as it’s going to be receiving its biggest DLC yet. Revealed back in April of this year, the trailer we received teased what was next for the game: over 30 new characters, new stages, and a brand new PvE game mode. The DLC was going to be the biggest content drop ever for a Dragon Ball game. And now we officially have the release date for the DLC, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – Super Limit Breaking Neo DLC is coming July 30th.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was released back in October 2024 and was overall well received, with many calling it a spiritual successor to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, as the game was a 3D arena fighter starring the Dragon Ball cast across all current series. But over time, the game’s audience started to dwindle due to slow content drops and patches. And many started to lose hope until April, at the Battle Hour, when Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – Super Limit Breaking Neo DLC was showcased, and it was to surpass expectations and elevate the game to greater heights. The new DLC is set to feature 33 characters from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball GT. It will also feature four new stages and 4 new episode battles. The game is also introducing a new single-player mode, “Limit Breaker Journey,” where players can choose their favorite character and customize and develop their abilities across various battles. The game will also feature new gameplay changes and mechanics.
All in all, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – Super Limit Breaking Neo DLC is set to revitalize the game, and both bring players back and capture new ones with its huge amount of content. The game itself is solid; it just lacked content updates that kept it fresh, but with this new DLC, it looks to meet player expectations and take the game in a new direction. Dragon Ball: Sparking!
