Doom Open Beta Coming Next Week, DLC Price And Content Revealed

Did you miss out on Doom‘s first closed beta, well now’s your chance to get your hands on update on the run-and-gun classic.

According to the Doom website, the beta will be available from April 15th (next Friday) until the April 17th. Players can begin pre-loading the beta as early as the April 12th. To access the beta all you have to do is search for the Doom beta on your preferred console’s storefront. That being said, the beta will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The beta will be similar to the closed beta, players will have access to Team Deathmatch and Warpath game types and the Heatwave and Infernal maps; as well the bevy of weapons and abilities available in the closed beta. For more info on what the closed beta offered, click here.

Bethesda also revealed DLC plans for the game. In a post on Bethesda’s website it was announced that Doom will be receiving content throughout the summer. Doom‘s SnapMap and multiplayer will be receiving free content updates, like new map modules and AI functionality for SnapMap and new game modes in multiplayer.

Bethesda will also be offering three paid multiplayer DLC packs. The packs will give players “a number of new maps, hack modules, playable demons, weapons and more”. Here is what the first pack will offer:

  • Three new maps
  • One new weapon
  • One new playable demon
  • One new armor set
  • One new piece of equipment
  • New hack modules and taunts
  • New customization colors and patterns

Each pack will cost $14.99 individually, with a season pass offered for $39.99.

No word on when the DLC will be available for download.

Doom comes out May 13th for Xbox One, PS, and PC.
