DONTNOD’s Upcoming RPG Vampyr is Getting a Development Web Series

DONTNOD Entertainment has announced that its next project, the historical-supernatural RPG Vampyr, will be preceded by a web series that gives fans a look into the game’s development. ‘DONTNOD Presents Vampyr‘ will be rolling out in coming weeks, with the first episode, Episode I: Making Monsters, arriving on January 18. Each of the four planned episodes will be roughly 5 minutes long, accompanied by gameplay and in-studio footage with emphasis on a particular facet of the game.

“In the first episode, Making Monsters, DONTNOD delves into their signature identity and reasons behind putting players into the role of a conflicted predator,” DONTNOD wrote in its announcement post. “The studio will make players feel the duality that torments doctor-turned-vampire Jonathan Reid, giving them the freedom to choose who to sacrifice and who to save. Every killing has consequences, and it’s up to players to balance their need to feed and grow stronger, with the rapidly deteriorating city of London.”

The remaining episodes don’t have descriptions, but the titles include Episode II: Architects of the Obscure, Episode III: Human After All, and Episode IV: Stories From the Dark. The game itself doesn’t have a launch date yet after its delay back in September 2017, but it did get a new release window.

Vampyr launches in spring 2018 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
