Fans of Tom Clancy’s The Division are in for a treat. A new story trailer for The Divison 2 as well as information regarding the Private Beta were both released by Ubisoft earlier today. The trailer, which you can check out below, trades the mean streets of New York for the rundown mess that is the Capitol City, Washington D.C. The trailer begins with a brutal sequence of D.C. residents in trouble, followed by the narration of a Division agent. “After we survived the initial attack in New York, our Capitol needed us. But with the country slipping into civil war, who can we trust?”
It seems that the trouble in New York from the first game has spread, and needs containment once again. Players will be up against a bevy of enemy factions, according to the trailer, including “roving packs of Hyenas, religious outcasts, and depraved fascists” and a mysterious antagonist instructing his soldiers to “terminate any Division agents with extreme prejudice.”
In addition to the new trailer dropping, details regarding the Private Beta were also announced. According to Ubisoft’s website, the Private Beta will go from February 7 through February 10. The Beta will be available to players who have preordered the game, as well as those lucky enough to snag a spot by signing up on the website. The Private Beta, as well as the game, will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The Division 2 released a Technical Alpha almost exactly a month ago, and although participants signed an NDA, some info snuck through via Reddit. The Alpha received overall positive feedback from players, so it should be interesting to see how Ubisoft took feedback from participants and tweaked the game in the upcoming Beta.
Tom Clancy’s The Divison 2 is set for release on March 15, 2019 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC through the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft’s Uplay Store.
