A port of Divinity: Original Sin II was released yesterday by Nintendo and Larian Studios. In a very surprising announcement, it was revealed that the port of Divinity: Original Sin II allows for cross-save between the Nintendo Switch and Steam on the PC. According to Gamespot, this seems to be one of the first games for the Nintendo Switch to feature cross save between the PC and the Switch.
The addition of the cross-save feature for Divinity: Original Sin II means that players who bought a copy of the game through Steam will be able to continue their journey on the Nintendo Switch. At the moment, there is no indication on if the cross-save feature for the Nintendo Switch version will become compatible with the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions of the game.
Larian Studios is also handing out special virtual gift bags full of free DLC for Divinity: Original Sin II for every console. The free content includes several brand new recipes, as well as new craftable items, and an icon on the hotbar that allows players to switch between sprinting and walking. The gift bag also includes a new feature called “Animal Empathy” that allows players to converse with animals without having to spend talent points.
Another new item added with the DLC is a Magic Mirror which allows players to respec their characters. The mirror can be found in the Arena of Fort Joy. Larian is also increasing players’ base maximum action points to 8. The last piece of DLC to be added is an herb garden that allows players to grow various plants. The new cross-save feature is available to players at the beginning of the game, so players who purchased the game on PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch can use the cross-save feature immediately.
