One of the hottest games at the moment is Dispatch. Marking the return of the episodic, narrative, choice-driven games that made Telltale Games so popular, Dispatch has become a hit, selling over 1 million copies in 10 days. One of the main reasons for the game’s popularity is the cast of characters. Arguably, one of the most popular is Malevola, a half-demon that many fans would love to see a romance path with. She is voiced by Alanah Pearce, who, while playing the game, learned and shared how Malevola’s last name was chosen, and how AdHoc Studio honored her late stepfather, whose last name was Gibb.

During her stream, Alanah talked about how Malevola’s last name came about because there wasn’t one originally, at least, that’s how it was written. “It was just like a throwaway line cuz it was just like originally, it was just Malevola,” Pearce explained. “I don’t have a last name, I think, was what it was. And then they were like, ‘You can do one if you want.'”
Her stepfather passed away just after Alanah recorded this part. “I guess I didn’t know when I recorded it that he wouldn’t still be here by the time the game came out, but that’s so sweet.”
Dispatch is a superhero workplace comedy where choices matter. Players take on the role of Robert Robertson, AKA Mecha Man, whose mech-suit is destroyed in a battle against his nemesis, forcing him to take a job at a superhero dispatch center: not as a hero, but a dispatcher. In charge of rehabilitating a group of ex-supervillains, you must manage your roster while navigating office relationships and rebuilding your suit for a shot at revenge.
