Disintegration Enters Closed Beta

Co-creator of Halo Marcus Lehto, SOCOM Director Mike Gutmann, and the 30 man strong indie studio V1 Interactive will launch the closed beta for their new game Disintegration on the 28th of January. The sci-fi shooter will only be open for players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Disintegration beta will feature seven class types called “Crews” to be played along with two modes and various maps.

Disintegration takes place in a sci-fi post-apocalypse where natural resources have run short. Additionally, Earth’s climate has slowly made the planet nearly uninhabitable for life, pushing humans to near extinction. In an attempt to preserve humanity, human brains started being placed in cybernetic bodies called “Integrations.” The conflict revolves around the Integrations and the remainder of humans.

Players of Disintegration take control of vehicles called “Gravcycles” that are akin to the titans from Titanfall. On top of offering a FPS experience, Disintegration offers a mix of RTS as well. Players will get to command various minor ground units. To what extent players can exercise control over ground units is unclear. While the closed beta is mostly exploring the multiplayer aspect of the game, Disintegration will offer a single player campaign following a group of outlaws as they rebel against the “Rayonne,” a radical group of cyborgs, where players will get to lead various units in combat as the pilot named Romer Shoal.

Slots for the closed beta are limited and players can sign up on the Disintegration website. The beta doesn’t have a projected time to become an open beta. Currently, Disintegration is yet to have a date to expect the full release but the game is planned to be finished in 2020 for PC and home consoles. It is also unknown if progress is carried over to the full release for beta players.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
