Dirt Rally 2.0 Ups The Realism in Its Release Next Week

The off-roading racing game from the developers at Codemasters is back for its second installment with Dirt Rally 2.0. Vehicle interested gamers will be able to dive into the rough racer that is punishing to any kind of car that makes the smallest mistake on a stage. The newest rally locations will take over 40 of the most unique off-road cars all over the world from New Zealand to Argentina. Even more of these courses will let players drive through beautiful locations in Spain, Australia, Poland, and the United States for a total of eight official tracks from the FIA World Rallycross championship.

Since the release of the first Dirt Rally in 2015, some significant changes have been made to the driving and course mechanics that will introduce “a new authentic handling model, tyre choice and surface degradation” for a more immersive experience. The developers show off the newly added stage degradation in the video below. Players will have to strategize about which car is best suited for a particular track or situation from their team and collection of cars either in online Events or in a single player mode. There will be a host of activities available for constant competitiveness such as daily, weekly, and monthly challenges with the Dirt community.

A racer’s team can be created through their own choices by hiring staff and choosing cars that can be stored in an expandable garage that can be upgraded. Speaking of upgrading, every vehicle can be tuned to suit a particular driving style or tracks environment. A car’s parts can also be upgraded as a player progresses through online races or the Career Campaign. Car hobbyists will be happy to see a short list of just some of the vehicles that will be drivable: the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R, Ford Mustang RGT, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, VW Polo GTI R5, and many more.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation4, and PC February 26. Those that grab the Day One Edition will receive several early unlocked cars along with a couple of other unique ones that will not have to be purchased or grinded for to own.
