In the Time Stranger story trailer, posted on August 27, 2025 on the Bandai Namco Entertainment America YouTube Account, future players are given a glimpse of the voice acting for the apocalyptic Digimon story. In Time Stranger, the protagonist, an agent of the secret organization ADAMAS, must navigate time travel, parallel worlds, and save everyone after suddenly being sent eight years in the past. The new story trailer emphasizes the importance of Inori Misono and Aegiomon, who producer Ryosuke Hara pointed out in the Summer Showcase video for Time Stranger.
Time Stranger will feel familiar to many with its monster-taming RPG, turn-based battle system. Set to include over 450 Digimon, the player will be able to choose a partner Digimon to begin their journey with, and work forward to tame more throughout their journey, creating a party of six Digimon to counter enemies. Digimon will have different traits, Attributes, Elements, and attacks which players will use strategically to overcome enemies in battle. Time Stranger also introduces Cross Arts, where the player can sync their Digivice with their Digimon and provide help in the form of support actions or follow-up attacks.
Digimon Story Time Stranger is currently available for pre-order and will release in three weeks on October 3, 2025.
