Bandai Namco has announced that Digimon ReArise will soon be launching on mobile devices outside of Japan. They made their announcement via a new English trailer for the game, introducing the game’s story and characters. Eager fans of the Digimon franchise can now pre-register for the game to get their hands on it as soon as it’s available here.
In Digimon ReArise, an unknown Digimon called Pusurimon starts living inside the player’s smartphone. When the mysterious “Spirals” start to attack, Pusurimon digivolves into Herissmon to protect the player. With Herissmon now as their partner, the player must go on a journey to stop the Spirals.
Along the way, players will meet and befriend several other characters who will help out. The trailer introduces tamer Michi Shinjo and her partner Salamon, tamer Keito Tamada and his partner Elecmon, tamer Mayu Kohinata and her partner Kudamon, tamer Takumi Hiiragi and his partner Dorumon, and the DIgimon Agumon, whose partner tamer’s identity has yet to be revealed.
The trailer quickly shows clips of different aspects of gameplay, which all culminate into “the tale of your Digimon’s Realize.”
There are other features in the game outside of the story mode. Players can battle one another in matches ranging from one-on-one to five-on-five. Battles are in real time. Players can also raise other Digimon outside of battle and send them to DigiTown, where their Digimon can hang out and befriend one another in a space decorated by the player. To train multiple Digimon at once, players can send their other Digimon to a gym to train while they play through the game.
Bandai Namco did not specify a release date for Digimon ReArise yet, as the trailer simply says it will officially come to iOS and Android devices in 2019. Players who pre-register will receive a few in-game bonuses once they start playing, such as a digiegg that will hatch into Pumpkinmon, who has a brand-new mega evolution in the game.
