For those who have been waiting for the chance to try out the upcoming Diablo II: Resurrected, we have some great news. Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the Technical Alpha will commence later this week and last to the weekend from April 8 to April 12. This specific play test is for those who signed up to be part of it when the game was initially revealed during BlizzConline, and the company states in their post that they will officially send out those invites sometime this week.
Let the claws of the demons drag you back in. The #DiabloII: Resurrected Technical Alpha starts 4/8.

The company mentions that this Technical alpha will not have any co-op features. This means that the test will be a single-player experience only, which will give Blizzard invaluable feedback on how to improve the overall game before diving into the online multiplayer aspects. The Technical Alpha will also have three of the seven classes available to pick, which include the Barbarian, Amazon, and Sorceress. Players will be able to go through the first two acts of the game, all the way to the Duriel boss fight.
One awesome part about this Technical Alpha is that it won’t have a level cap. That means that players will be able to reach the maximum level in the game for all three classes, albeit in a very short time frame. A few days to grind out all of those levels is no easy task. Blizzard also mentioned in their post that they will have a multiplayer alpha test sometime later this year, and if the game keeps its 2021 release time frame, then we expect that test to come sooner than later.
As we already mentioned, Diablo II: Resurrected was finally revealed during the Opening Ceremony of BlizzConline. Blizzard also took a deep dive look into what they kept from the original 2000 release, as well as what they added to improve the quality of life aspects. Diablo II: Resurrected is slated to launch this year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Battle.net.
