Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the beloved cult classic survival game, Alien: Isolation. While celebrating this great occasion, in a statement post to Twitter by Al Hope, the creative director of Alien: Isolation at Creative assembly, he states:
A sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.
In 2015, the sci-fi survival game saw 2.1 million copies sold in what Sega considered a “weak” year for the company. This however, was 1 million more than what was projected by the company the month before its release and saw it sit fairly high on the list of units sold that year, out selling both Sonic Boom games and seeing Persona top their list with over 6 million units sold.
Although they may have been a little harsh towards the sales of the game upon its release, Sega shared in the excitement of the announcement on Twitter.

This information had leaked about a month ago on Reddit from a user name Arrick. In the post, he mentioned that he had spoken with a former developer at Creative Assembly who had divulged a few details about the Alien: Isolation sequel to him.
Firstly, the sequel would ignore the events of Alien: Blackout and instead would be a continuation of our protagonist, Amanda’s journey.
Next, the sequel would be announced around the time of Alien: Romulus (the film was released on August 16th) and the movie would pull a lot of source material from Alien: Isolation including its weapons, save stations, and the doors, hatches, and panels.
Alien: Isolation is also supposed to receive a remaster and a VR version handled by 20th Century Studios and not Creative Assembly. The final thing the post mentions is that the remaster should arrive near the 10-year mark, the VR adaptation is expected in 2025, and the sequel is expected to release in 2026 with a possible teaser at Gamescom in 2024.
