The news was shared on the SWTOR community post where Creative Director Charles Boyd expressed the difficult changes that have occurred within their office space. On the official website, he writes “As Keith alluded to a few weeks back, EA, Bioware, and the SWTOR team have shifted to working entirely from home to ensure the ongoing safety of our team members. Like us, the voiceover studios where we record dialogue around the world are also eager to ensure the health and safety of their staff and actors and have postponed all in-studio recording activities. As ya’ll know, our cast is pretty huge; some actors do have in-home recording capability, but unfortunately, many others understandably do not.” Based on those events they came to the conclusion to change a lot of their upcoming video game updates to a later time. But as of right now they do not specify when that time will be.
Among the updates that were planned on being released was the Star Wars: The Old Republic 6.2 Update, originally it was set to be released in June of this year but they subsided to postpone the release to another time that is still classified as unknown at the moment. The new gaming features would have introduced a new and unique in-gaming event that joins the weekly rotating schedule. Charles continues on to say that the SWTOR Update 6.1.1 which will include a number of improvements to Conquests and will also make adjustments to class balance and end game items; will be delayed for another week. Even though the SWTOR developers shows a promising outcome for their updates, they just want to ensure to their fans about the situation going on within not just their world but ours as well.
