Prior to the live stream reveal of Call of Duty WWII, it appears there may have been a leak as to some key details for the game. Some of the details include a release date, game description, campaign description, multiplayer description, and possibly even co-op gameplay.
As reported by CharlieIntel, marketing material has surfaced in Australia that shows some of the more important details that are usually released leading up to the release date of video games. To start off, the leaked image breaks down what the game will be about. Players will, “Land in Normandy on D-Day and battle across Europe through iconic locations in history’s most monumental war. Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny.”
As for the campaign, the description of the picture tells of a story that is an “unbreakable brotherhood of common men fighting to preserve freedom in a world on the brink of tyranny.” the description also goes on to say that the graphics will be unlike previous installments of the Call of Duty series. Saying that the features will be, “bold, lifelike visuals with the kind of blockbuster cinematic authenticity that only Call of Duty can deliver”.
What really stands out in this leak is the mention of a co-op mode that will be a “standalone game experience”. Hopefully this means that there will be a separate story just for co-op play with friends. The description reads that the “co-operative mode unleashes a new and original story”, which hints that it won’t be part of the campaign, but will have its own theme.
The picture also shed some light on the release date of the game, which if correct means that it will be released on November 3rd. I implore you to keep in mind that the document has not been verified and could ultimately be fake. To know for sure you can check back here on the 26th as we cover the live stream revea from Sledgehammer Games.
