The first DLC expansion pack for Bungie’s latest game, Destiny is due out December 9. However, players were able to get an exclusive look at the new update, The Dark Below, due to leaked footage via YouTube. The user Mr Jester6598 doesn’t say in detail how the footage was obtained, but does state that he stumbled across it “due to an error.”
The Dark Below will feature new story based missions involving the Hives quest to summon a dark god, by the name of Crota. It will also introduce a new tower character Eris, who forewarns players of The Hives intentions to destroy Earth.
Along with the awaited DLC pack, Bungie also released one of its biggest updates to date, patch 1.0.3. It is one of the first, in a series, of updates before The Dark Below expansion pack is available. It includes a variety of content such as new social features, changes to competitive maps, adjustments to the overall game play, and new content for the Iron Banner.
Team chat was introduced to users for a gaming social channel. Players now have the ability to talk to each other in strike and crucible matches. An issue with performing attacks was also addressed in this update. Many players reported using melee attacks only to teleport right through the opposing player. Explosive rounds would often leave the viewer’s camera more visibly shaken; the update reduced the amount of motion. A glitch on Mars which enabled players to clear all enemies of the stage was corrected. Also the difficulty level on three member strike missions was scaled down to allow strikes to become less difficult.
The Iron Banner is now available for levels twenty and up. Lower ranked players can accompany only if adjoining team member is level twenty or higher.
