It has been months since Destiny’s first DLC, The Dark Below, was released last December. So I know many fans, myself included, have been quenching for this announcement ever since developers began teasing us with vague details about the next update. After weeks of speculation, Bungie has finally announced the release date of Destiny’s next DLC pack, House of Wolves scheduled to debut May 19th. Also revealed was insightful details on what players should expect in the upcoming weeks. Check out the chilling announcement trailer below.
Heading into this next expansion we all know now that we will be venturing into the darkness of the Reef, to help the Queen against her traitorous Fallen from the House of Wolves. Now comes the question of what exactly will this DLC contain? Well for starters Bungie has already stated that there will not be another raid with this DLC, which is a real bummer considering it’s one of the most essential ways to level up and gain the best gear. Though do not completely rule out raids just yet, as developers have already stated that a raid is in the works and scheduled to debut later on this year. In the meantime what you can look forward to is a new co-op battle arena called The Prison of Elders which focuses on skill, variety, and playability. If you can recall The Prison of Elders is where the Arkon Priest was held for a short time, you can find him on The Winter’s Run Strike.
As the weeks progress more information will be made available starting off on April 22nd developers will take you on a tour of the Reef and how to upgrade your weapons, which based off screenshots looks like weapons will gain an increase in to 365 attack power. Update 1.1.2 is scheduled for release early tomorrow which will include larger vault space.
Just like any other release, you can expect more details to be made available in the upcoming weeks. Bungie has already outlined several important dates to look out for including the April 22nd date mentioned above, along with April 29th, May 6th, and May 8th.
