Online retailers have been so much more susceptible to yet-unannounced product leaks when compared to their brick-and-mortar counterparts. The latest breach comes from Amazon, and its an interesting one.

Destiny: The Collection showed up on Amazon for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a release date of August 18th – a month ahead of the planned release date for the next major expansion, Rise of Iron. The listing has vanished (as they tend to do), and no details were included as to what the collection contains. Activision hasn’t even mentioned any sort of Destiny collection in the works, so this should go into your “skeptic but possible” pile.
Destiny has received three expansions since its September 2014 release – The Dark Below, House of Wolves and The Taken King. A collection could easily contain all three of these, along with the upcoming Rise of Iron for free, or at a reduced preorder price. It’s also a nice boost to bring any new players into the fold – or to convert some bitter skeptics – ahead of the planned Destiny sequel slated for release next year.
