An updated product listing on Amazon has confirmed that a beta version of Bungie’s Destiny will launch in early 2014. The listing states that the Beta will run on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One.
A representative from Bungie stated that the Beta will include a “diverse sampling of major activities,” all taken directly from the full game. Those players who have already pre-ordered the game have been entered into the Beta and will receive a code via email. Other players can visit Bungie’s website and follow the instructions for how to enter.
Bungie is no stranger to Beta testing, having offered beta runs for both Halo 3 and Halo: Reach as a mode in which to assess problems and player reactions. It’s worked so far for them.
Destiny will be the first post-Halo game for the company and falls as the first game under their new publishing deal with Activision.
