Bungie has detailed the next event happening in the world of Destiny 2: Crimson Days. They say that the event will be similar to last year, but a few changes were made and a couple of new rewards will be available.
The center of the event revolves around Crimson Doubles, which is a 2v2 Crucible playlist. The scenario will pit teams of 2 against each other in a clash match. The matches will include a round-based twist. One of the features about this mode is that staying close to your partner will have your abilities recharge at a faster rate. If you move far away from your partner, the enemy team will have a waypoint that leads to your location. Valor bonuses will be turned on throughout the event for this and all other Crucible modes during Crimson Days.
Crimson Days can be started by speaking to Lord Shaxx, who will give you the Fire of the Crimson Days emblem and five Crimson Bounties. The Bounties will have both PVE and PVP activities. There will be four daily bounties and a weekly bounty which tasks you to duo Nightfall with your partner.
The rewards from last year’s Crimson Days are returning but the way you get them has changed. As you complete Crimson Double matches and Crimson Bounties, Lord Shaxx will give you Confectionery Hearts which is what you will use to select your rewards. Winning a Crimson Double match gets you 7 Hearts, losing will earn you 5 Hearts. A daily bounty will get you 15 Hearts and the Nightfall Duo bounty rewards you with 75 Hearts.
With these Hearts, you can get the Tirastrella Legendary Ghost which costs 25 Hearts; The Undeterred Exotic Sparrow costs 50 Hearts; The Wardcliff Coil Ornament is 125 Hearts; The Flauting Dance Legendary Emote is 150 Hearts, and a Warmhearted Gift Package is 15 Hearts.
Two new rewards are going to be available in Crimson Days. “The Vow” is a legendary bow that will come fully masterworked and it is the first bow that will be available to all players of Destiny 2. It will be 650 power for Forsaken players. The other reward is the Sugary Ghost Shell which is rewarded after you complete the set of Crimson Days Triumphs.
Another feature coming back along with the rewards are Double Drops. A Crimson Engram will drop with every Bright Engram. You can also purchase Crimson Engrams for Silver. Crimson Days begins next Tuesday, February 12 and will last the week, ending on the weekly reset at 9 AM PST on February 18.
