Bungie has revealed some features through a trailer of Destiny 2’s upcoming beta for console players. The beta will be arriving later this month and hopes to have many features that players will appreciate. In the trailer for the beta Bungie stated that they will be giving players access to many parts of the game. They will be able to play through the opening story mission “Homecoming” which was displayed during E3 2017. Also players will be able to play the Inverted Spire Strike mission in the story as well.
Bungie has also given more information on what players will be able to do within the beta. They will be given the ability to try out new subclasses and game modes. For example in Crucible they will be able to play in two different modes with the first one being Control, a more traditional mode with a Domination style. The other option players will have to choose from is Countdown which has more of an attack and defend style.
There are some features that will not be available for online yet such as the game’s Clan feature. Characters will be deleted before the game’s release and of course the beta will not include character progression that will represent what will be in the final product.
Consumers can get early access to the beta by preordering a console version of Destiny 2. Early access begins on July 18 for Playstation 4 and July 19 for Xbox One, otherwise Destiny 2’s beta will be available July 21 until the 23rd for anyone who want’s to play. Bungie has stated that the beta for the PC platform will launch late in August. Destiny 2 will officially release September 6 for consoles and on October 24 for PC.
