Skyrim Together Reborn was released just a few days ago and has already been a major success with over 800,000 downloads in total. The mod allows players to join together in a co-op version of Bethesda’s Skyrim. Although the mod has already been successful in just a few days, the development team is already planning on moving on to other projects in the future.
The development team posted on Reddit and expressed how happy they were with the launch despite the expected technical difficulties that arose for some players. The only issue that seemed persistent for some players was with some of the servers, but they will be fixing that issue sometime soon.
In the post, the development team also addressed the future of the mod and how players can help. The post said “With thousands of man hours of work put into the project already, we have done most of the heavy lifting for you. With the mod going open source, it is now up to you, the community, to step up, and further develop Reborn” The post continued and said “The current dev team is very tired, and frankly, is simply interested in branching out and doing other projects.”
This Reddit post made it clear that players should not expect any major overhauls of the game since many of the developers will be moving on to other projects. While fans should not expect any major updates, there will be some small bug fixes that can occur by the developers, since the post also said they “will still be here to guide new developers, review code, and perhaps occasionally implement features and fixes.”
The post did not specify which projects the team will be moving to next, but many suspect that they will be working on a Fallout Together mod, which will likely bring co-op to Fallout 4 the same way it did for Skyrim.
