For those of you chomping at the bit for a new Assassin’s Creed game, you might have to relax for a while. In a report issued by Kotaku, developer Ubisoft has decided to push back release of the upcoming installment in the Assassin’s Creed to 2017.
The game in question is believed to be set in Ancient Egypt under the name Empire. While this speculation at this point, it is important that Kotaku has released information on the 3 most recent games released in the franchise.
The move to push back ends the streak of releases set by Ubisoft which began back in 2009 with the release of fan favorite Assassin’s Creed II. While this will be the first year without a major release from the franchise, Ubisoft does have other assassin related material scheduled for 2016. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India and Russia are each set for release in the early part of 2016 and the much anticipated Assassin’s Creed movie starring Michael Fassbender will be making its way into theaters this coming December.
