

When PlayStation and Kojima Productions announced that there would be a special panel for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at SXSW,many assumed that we would be getting a release date for the game. Alongside Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and Woodkid, Kojima discussed and shared new details about the highly, anticipated sequel. The panel also revealed a new trailer, pre-order details, and a release date for the game. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on June 26. 2025.
On Twitter/X, Kojima released a message talking about the trailer. “The latest trailer for DEATH STRANDING 2 ON THE BEACH has been released. I edited it myself, keeping in mind the worldview, era, themes, story, characters, gameplay, music, connections to the previous work, and its evolution as a sequel. I’ve incorporated various hints and pieces into it. Please enjoy the time leading up to the release by watching it multiple times and pondering over it.”
In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, “embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam-with companions by his side-sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles, and a haunting question: should we have connected?”
Pre-orders for the game are set to begin on March 17. There are three editions that players will be able to choose from.
The Digital Standard Edition costs $69.99 and includes the full game as a digital download and:

Kojima Productions also announced the Death Stranding: Strands of Harmony World Tour which is set to premiere on the 6th anniversary of the release of the first game, November 8, 2025 in Sydney. From then until March 28, 2026, the tour will visit 19 locations around the world:
